When you purchase your hot tub you want to take the best care of it that you can because it is a big investment. Whether you use the hot tub every day or once a week you need to know the right way to clean the hot tub thoroughly. If you don’t clean the hot tub well you may end up with bacteria forming and causing an infection the more you use it. There are chemical solutions and cleaning agents to purchase just for cleaning your hot tub but you may prefer a natural cleaning method for your hot tub.

Cleaning agents for hot tubs are a fast easy way to clean but they can cause damage over time to your hot tub and they can also cause a reaction on your skin if you do not get the hot tub rinsed out completely.
Natural Enzymes are one way to clean your hot tub naturally. This is an enzyme that you can purchase at your local hot tub store. The enzyme tablet will slowly erase the film and bacteria that builds up in your hot tub. These enzymes are safe but you do need to purchase them and you also need to make sure that you rinse your hot tub thoroughly after using them.

Baking soda paste is another natural way to clean your hot tub. Use baking soda and water until you have a paste consistency. Scrub your hot tub with a circular motion until the entire tub has been scrubbed. Then rinse thoroughly when done. Baking soda is a natural cleaner and there is an endless list of uses for it.

Instead of using bleach try using Grapefruit seed extract. Dilute the extract in a spray bottle and spray over your hot tub when the tub is empty It has about the same affect as bleach but without the chemical.

If you have trouble with calcium build up in your hot tub and on the faucet fixtures you may want to try using a mixture of white vinegar and water. The vinegar will safely eat away all the calcium build up and will not harm your fixtures at all. The acid found in the vinegar can loosen the calcium build up and dissolve it so your fixtures can be clean again. Unlike the chemicals used the vinegar will not harm the fixtures at all.
Using all natural products such as baking soda, vinegar, lemon, grapefruit and more will not only clean your hot tub but it will not harm the material in which your hot tub was made because they are all natural ingredients. The cleaning time is basically the same as if you used a chemical solution to clean your hot tub with when you consider all the time you must spend trying to get the chemical solution rinsed off of your hot tub surface.
When you choose to use natural cleaners you are automatically taking better care of your hot tub and your environment.
